The night before the wedding, it is tempting to do something special for your skin: a new mask, a treatment someone recommended, a deep exfoliation. The best thing you can do that night is the opposite.

Why nothing new should be tried that night

Keep to your usual skincare routine, the one your skin already knows. A new product can irritate it or cause a reaction, and the night before the wedding leaves no time for it to settle. Calm skin, even if it has had nothing special, is a far better starting point than red skin.

The one face mask that does help

If you want to do something more, a vitamin C mask, or another one just as gentle, adds a little radiance without any risk. That is enough.

How the skin is prepared on the wedding morning

I take care of the rest. On the wedding morning I always bring vitamin C masks or patches, which give the skin light before the makeup, and decongesting patches for the under-eyes, which tend to show the nerves and the short night. That way your skin reaches the makeup rested, even if you are not.

The weeks before the wedding have rules of their own, set out in how to prepare your skin before the wedding.
