The wedding hair and makeup trial cannot be done at just any time. It has to fall when the hair and skin already look much as they will on the wedding day.

Why the trial is done one to two months before

One to two months before, the length of the hair and the tan are already very close to how they will be on the wedding day. If the trial were done much earlier, the hairstyle would be decided on shorter hair and the makeup on skin of a different tone.

A flexible date for brides living outside Spain

Many of my brides live abroad and plan the wedding from there. For them, the trial date fits around their trips to Spain, and it often coincides with another appointment they already have, such as the menu tasting. If they only arrive a few days before the wedding, the trial is done in those days, even the day before.

How to enjoy the sun between the trial and the wedding

Between the trial and the wedding, what can change most is the skin, and almost always because of the sun. A little tan is not a problem; sunburn is. Makeup does not settle the same way on burnt skin, and I have come across skin so burnt that it was weeping. With skin like that, you would spend your wedding day uncomfortable and in pain.

It is worth watching out for swimsuit and bikini lines too. Even with a lovely tan, a strap line across the neckline is very hard to hide and blend with body makeup.
